Becoming a parent is undoubtedly one of the most wonderful experiences, surprising us with the love we have for another human being, showing us strength we carry within us and making many of our lives more purposeful, colourful and bright.

However, these are also the most challenging times, turning our priorities upside down, pushing us to our limits and forcing us to rethink and rejuggle most aspects of our lives.

Living in a modern, westernized society is a huge privilege and we have all we need at the touch of our fingertips, but it comes with its own disadvantages.Becoming a parent can mean juggling multiple responsibilities without help from someone else and this can be draining and make you feel incredibly alone.A baby that won’t stop crying, washing piling up, no time to cook, let alone eat a meal in peace. Many mums, dads or carers are too scared to ask for help, some see it as a failure, some just don’t know where to turn to.

This is where The OBS comes in.All members of The OBS have children and know exactly what those moments feel like. We’ve been there, are still there and may be there again.Parenting is as tough as it is amazing. It’s as tiring as it is exhilarating. It’s as crazy as it is mind-blowingly fabulous. Here at The OBS we have a vision to provide parents and carers with a breather, with a place to go, with people to call on for help you get through those moments that just feel too much.We have created a safe, confidential and also fun environment where you can ask all the questions, get information and talk without being judged. We provide a network and community for parents and carers to feel good, to laugh, grow and share their stories and experiences, no matter where they are from, with people from all kinds of backgrounds and with different tales to tell.We are in this together, we understand you and we will invite you to walk with us on the journey of parenthood. We believe that we are stronger together, that we all need help and support and, essentially, it takes a village to raise a child.

So, if you need a pair of helping hands at home to hold the baby so you can have a shower in peace, if you want someone to put on a load of washing for you whilst you eat some food, if you need someone to run errands for you or cook a meal, our members are here to do just that for you.

We also provide wellness and fit sessions which are open to everyone; we have qualified doulas and hypnobirthing practitioners in our team as well as women from all walks of life who are all about creating a village for you to recuperate, feel empowered and looked after. We are here for you regardless of your race, gender, sexuality, religion or background.Whether you are new to life with children or not. This is the village, these are our people, this is The OBS.
